The Labour Force Survey (LFS) is a survey of households in Great Britain and Northern Ireland that provides information about people's employment status and conditions. It asks individuals about their current and previous jobs, as well as enquiring about related topics such as training, qualifications, income and disability. The survey by ONS is a sample survey which was first undertaken in 1973. Although the quarterly releases of the LFS is still produced the annual data and local area survey has been combined into the Annual Population Survey (APS). The APS is a combined survey of households and provides a wider variety of information than the LFS.
