As a result of a Periodic Electoral Review of ward boundaries undertaken by the Local Government Commission, with an order made in July 2002, the Government changes were made to the ward arrangements and came into effect on 1^st May 2003.

The ‘new ward map’ shows the 18 new wards, whilst the ‘old ward map’ shows the previous 19 wards.
