Public Health Report

Each year, the Bournemouth Partnership, Bournemouth Teaching Primary Care Trust and Bournemouth Borough Council prepare a Public Health Report.

The report sets the backcloth for a programme of multi-agency working to improve the health of Bournemouth residents under the banner of the Bournemouth Partnership.

Life Expectancy

Life Expectancy can be explained as the average no. of additional years that a person could expect to live if the current mortality trends continued for the rest of that persons life.  It is a valuable source which may be used in planning for future resources.

The Life Expectancy at birth between 1998 and 2002 (below) applies only to those born between those years.
For example, someone who was aged 70 years old between 1998-2002 cannot assume that the same life expectancy would apply to them.  They would not be able to use this same data to calculate how much longer they will live.
