Education, Skills and Training Deprivation
The Education, Skills and Training domain is split into two sub domains: one relating to education deprivation for children/young people in the area and one relating to lack of skills and qualifications among the working age adult population. Children/Young people sub domain:
- Average points score of children at Key Stages 2,3 and 4 (2002)
- Proportion of young people not staying on in school or school level education above 16 years (2001)
- Proportion of those aged under 21 not entering higher education (1999-2002)
- Secondary school absence rate (2001-2002)

These Indicators have been presented in the same format as the domain maps in order to enable users to identify the particular drivers of deprivation in certain areas.
(It is important to note that although the individual statistics that have been mapped have been described in terms of deprivation, an area cannot be considered deprived based on one indicator alone. These statistics should only be used to help determine the real drivers behind the overall and domain scores for an individual SOA.)
