Social Services Support
Each person living in supported lodgings will have a member of staff from Social Services, called a keyworker, to provide support when they initially move in and for as long as necessary.
We meet with the landlord / landlady and the person staying in the supported lodgings to review the arrangements:
- six weeks after moving in
- regularly after that - usually every six months.
If at any time you or the landlord or landlady feel your needs have changed you can contact us and we will reassess the situation.
How staying in supported lodgings can be funded
Payment for supported lodgings can be funded through:
- Housing Benefit
- your own private income
- income which can be through Welfare Benefits or wages.
How accommodation in Supported Lodgings is arranged
Bournemouth Social Services Mental Health Support Team can assess the needs you have to see if they can be met by living in supported lodgings.
The supported lodgings are approved by Social Services staff who make careful checks including inspecting the property, interviewing the landlord/lady and making police checks.
