Broadwaters is a residential care support centre located close to Tuckton, set in large grounds with stunning views over the River Stour to Christchurch Priory. We provide care to meet the assessed needs of older people who live in Bournemouth and their carers. This includes:
- short term care
- rehabilitation to help people live independently in their own home
- long term care for existing residents.
Broadwaters is registered as a Community Care Home under the Registered Homes Act 1984 and is inspected by the Registration and Inspection Unit of Bournemouth Borough Council.
Our approach to caring
If you stay at Broadwaters we will:
- encourage you to be as independent as possible with our staff providing help when you need it
- respect your privacy, feelings, opinions and religion
- welcome your visitors at any time.
Accommodation
For your comfort we provide:
- single rooms each with a wash basin and emergency bell system
- bath or shower rooms and toilets all with aids and adaptations to meet your needs
- a commode, if required
- comfortable lounge
- dining facilities
- smoking area
- a key to lock your room
- attractive garden for strolling or relaxation.
Catering
The daily menu provides choice for each meal and we cater for all special dietary needs.
Tea and coffee making facilities are available for you and your visitors.

Charges
How much you pay will depend on a financial assessment of your circumstances, which will be made by your Social Services care manager.

If you live at home you can discuss your needs with your GP (local doctor) or you can talk to a care manager at Bournemouth Social Service by phoning (01202) 454979.
There will be an assessment of your needs and those of your carers to find out if they can be met by a stay at Broadwaters.
