We all enjoy living, working and visiting a clean and pleasant environment. Therefore it is not surprising that the ‘cleaner, safer, greener’ agenda remains a top priority for Bournemouth residents, consistently coming high on the list of concerns in customer surveys.
However our enjoyment of where we live can be spoilt by environmental crime which covers a wide range of anti-social activities that leave an impact on our natural, social and built environment.
Enviro crimes can range from:
- Dropping litter of any kind (including fast food packaging, smoking materials and chewing gum)
- Abandoned vehicles
- Dog fouling
- Flytipping
- Flyposting
- Graffiti.
Anyone caught commiting an environmental crime is liable to a fixed penalty notice by the Council and even prosecution.
If you spot anyone commiting an environmental crime you should report it at once to the Council's Customer First Contact Centre
on (01202) 451199.
More information regarding our enforcement policy can be found in the Bournemouth Borough Council Street Services Enforcement Strategy, Policy and Procedures Consultation document.
