Young People Go Loud are a group of children and young people who work together to suggest ways of improving Bournemouth by taking forward the views of children and young people, and presenting them to people who will do something with them.
Members of the Group are pictured here receiving a national BT Seen and Heard award for working hard to be heard and achieve positive change.
Members of Young People Go Loud planned and led a conference held at AFC Bournemouth, attended by about 100 children and young people from primary, secondary schools and youth groups across Bournemouth and effectively involving children and young people in the planning of services.
This was the first event of its kind, designed to get the views of children and young people about their lives, about services in Bournemouth, and how they would like things to be in future, The young people themselves fed back to the Bournemouth Partnership annual Conference.
Young people explored the five outcomes through giant board games - what the outcomes meant to them and what they felt the priorities should be:
-
"Monopoly" (enjoying and achieving, and achieving economic wellbeing)
-
"Operation" (being healthy)
-
"Millionaire" (making a positive contribution)
-
"Lucky Dip" (staying safe)
