Information for Practitioners

 

The Common Assessment Framework (CAF) is a shared assessment tool that is already being used by practitioners from agencies across the borough

The CAF helps you to develop a shared understanding of a child’s needs, so they can be met more effectively – and it means children and families don’t have to tell and re-tell their story. 

Most importantly, the CAF helps you assess needs at an earlier stage and co-ordinate work with families to meet those needs, alongside other practitioners and agencies.

A Protocol for information sharing has been agreed which applies across Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset.
