Latest Developments within the service

A new Extra Care scheme has been established at Vale Lodge, Vale Road, Boscombe.  This new proposal is in association with Bournemouth Teaching Primary Care Trust and Community Services.  The aim of the scheme is to provide services directly within the community and provide 'a home for life'.

The role of the Sheltered Housing Officer

The Sheltered Housing Officer's role is to provide the first point of contact for tenants, relatives and professional services for our tenants.

The officer maintains and reviews the tenant support plan, which is used to record and monitor the services that are provided to our tenants.

Performance Management and Benchmarking of Services

Publishing key information regarding how well the service is performing  will be displayed here in the near future.  Sheltered Housing is currently creating links with other Sheltered Housing providers in order to compare and contrast the services we are providing.

A Tenant-Focused Service

The service is currently undergoing a review with the views of tenants having an impact upon future service delivery.

At present we have one lead tenant.  We are also actively encouraging each scheme to form a recognised tenant association with the objective of providing a continuing customer focused service with a lead tenant representing each scheme.

Tenant Participation

Residents are encouraged to form their own residents' association to assist in arranging social and scheme events, together as acting as a tenants' voice to shape the future development and implementation of the service.
