  • Road markings and lines
  • Pedestrian guardrails and barriers
  • Crash barriers

Street Nameplates

The Council is responsible for the maintenance of street nameplates in Bournemouth, of which there are currently some 9,500. There is a policy of replacing old nameplates, as they become damaged, with new style signs that bear the Council's crest.

This new style of sign uses Kindersley lettering with the Bournemouth Borough Council logo. The materials used provide a retroreflective Class 2 background to the sign and the support legs are manufactured from recycled plastic.

Theft and vandalism of street nameplates can lead to serious delays in the response to 999 calls by the emergency services. Please report any instances you see using the contact details below.

The sign production unit at Southcote Road is fully equipped to offer a rapid response service to signing requirements, including for emergencies.
