On Street

Badge holders may park free of charge and without time limit at on street “pay and display” machines unless a local traffic order is in force. Signs explaining any restrictions will be in place. The Blue Badge must be displayed face upwards showing the expiry date.

Badge holders may also park on single or double yellow lines for up to three hours except where loading or unloading is restricted.

Where parking is limited to a specified time as denoted by signs, for example parking limited to 30 minutes no return in 30 minutes, disabled badge holders may park without time limit. The disabled badge must be displayed.

There are disabled parking spaces available in the following town centre locations.

Westover Road
Hinton Road
St Stephens Road
Commercial Road
Old Christchurch Road
Russel Cotes Road
Richmond Hill/Albert Road
Gervis Place
Avenue Road

West Cliff Promenade
Bourne Avenue
Post Office Road
Yelverton Road

Please note that at some of these locations a time restriction may apply during certain hours. Please check the signs and display your disabled badge and if a time limit applies set the clock correctly.

Please consult your Blue Badge Scheme Booklet for full conditions of use.

Off Street

Please remember that Off Street parking concessions for disabled people differ between authorities and it is advisable to check before assuming you can park without charge.

In car parks operated by Bournemouth Borough Council disabled people must pay unless the VEHICLE is tax exempt.  The Road Fund Licence will show nil and the word disabled.

If you hold a disabled blue badge you may park in a disabled bay.  Please purchase a pay and display ticket and if parking in a designated disabled parking space clearly display your disabled badge.

Various car parks in the town centre have disabled parking bays. To view a map of our car parks and the tariffs applicable click here.
