Bournemouth Borough Council are responsible for the management of on-street vehicle parking in the Borough. The revenue generated from parking fines will be used to fund improvements in parking and traffic issues within the Borough. This will help to improve:
- traffic congestion resulting from illegally parked vehicles
- road safety - particularly outside schools and at junctions
- improve access and response times for emergency vehicles
- provide improved access to short-stay parking places
- provide emergency relief wardens to the school crossing patrol service
- higher levels of off-street enforcement
We advise drivers to use the nearest off-street car park
Enforcement and Parking Services are located at Parkway House, 28 Avenue Road, adjacent to the Avenue Road multi-storey car park. Our office provides payment facilities for Penalty Charge Notices (on and off-street), purchase of parking permits and information on other parking-related issues.
From 31st March 2008 there will be a change to the legislation under which Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) are issued from Road Traffic Act 1991 to the Traffic Management Act 2004.
