The transport authorities in south east Dorset are undertaking a study to investigate the effects of economic growth proposals on the transport system.
The study will result in an agreed long term strategy and outline package of transport improvements, to secure economic growth over the next 20 years.
A key part of the study is the development of a transport model which will simulate all the ways that people travel in the area, such as walking, cycling, driving or catching the bus.
This study - the South East Dorset Multi Modal Transport Study (SEDMMTS) - has been split into three phases of work.
Phase 1 - the scope of work - has already been completed. Download a summary report (pdf)
Further details about phases 2 and 3 can be found below.
Phase 2 - Model Build, including data collection and preliminary testing. January 2008 – Summer 2009
Phase 3 - Strategy Development. Jan 2009 - Summer 2010 and beyond
