Focus—Befriending for Carers

Volunteer buddies are matched to carers to maintain social contact. Contact Kathy on 01202 745134

 

Groups for all carers:

Run by St John Ambulance

Meets on the first Tuesday of each month from 10.30–12.30pm. One group meets in the
St John Ambulance Offices at Discovery Court, Wallisdown Road. The other meets at the High Cross Church Hall, Amethyst Road, Christchurch. Contact 01305 751160.

Carers support group

First Thursday of the month from 2pm–3.30pm in the hall at the rear of Immanuel Church,
120 Southbourne Road. Contact 01202 419506 on Thursdays for more information.

Helping Hands

Meets the 1st Wednesday of the month at Heathlands Hotel, Grove Road, Bournemouth from 11.15am. Contact 01202 458204.

For carers of people with dementia

A wide range of groups and events to support carers of people with Dementia are run through the Alzheimer’s Society. These take place during the day and evening. Some activities are just for carers, others are for carers and the person they look after. For more information telephone 01202 716396.

Carers support group and information program for people caring for someone who has been diagnosed with dementia. Morning sessions are held at The Haymoor, Alderney Hospital, Ringwood Road, Poole, BH12 4NB. Telephone 01202 305023. Afternoon sessions are held at Kings Park Community Hospital, Gloucester Road. For Carers of Someone Using Mental Health Services
Who is Under 65

Support group meetings held on the last Monday of each month from 2pm at The Meeting Suite, 2nd Floor Bournemouth Library, 22 The Triangle, Bournemouth.
