Day care offers a range of services to help people who need support to live independently in their own home. Our qualified and experienced staff offer help and support at a day centre. You can enjoy the facilities available, join in activities, maintain your skills and lead as full a life as possible.
We run three day centres for older people: Alumhurst,| and Northbourne|t. Each centre has its own individual character. They offer a safe, relaxed and friendly environment where you can:

We understand that family and friends giving unpaid care to our day centre users may also need support. We can help by providing advice, information| and breaks from caring.
People who are over 65 and meet our criteria| for day care support may attend a day centre. We also consider younger people who would benefit from our service.If you would like to apply to attend a day centre contact Bournemouth Care Direct (see contacts panel for details)
We talk to you about what help and support you need. This helps us to decideif your needs qualify| for day care. If you choose, we can also speak with your partner, carer, family member or friend.
If you attend a day centre we agree a care plan with you to achieve your goals. We check this plan with you regularly to make sure the services provided meet your needs.
Transport can be provided to and from the centre. We will discuss this with you when assessing your needs.
We charge for day care services and transport|. We assess your finances to work out how much you need to pay
