Paying For Parking Using Your Mobile Phone

Local Rate Call 01202 232000

Have you ever:

Arrived at a car park and found you do not have enough change?

Unsure how long you are going to stay?

Paid for a few hours parking but then decided you want to stay longer and then had to return to the car park to put another pay and display ticket on your car?

Felt vulnerable if you are on your own at night putting money into the machine?

Why not consider using the RingGo mobile phone parking system.

What is RingGo?

RingGo is a mobile phone parking payment method that enables you to pay for your parking with your debit or cardit card, rather than using cash at the machine.

How do I register with RingGo?

You can pre-register online by completing Registration on the RingGo website.|

All the Pay and Display car parks operated by Bournemouth Borough Council offer the RingGo mobile phone payment system as well as a number of on street metered locations|

When you arrive in the car park you simply dial the local rate telephone number shown on the RingGo notice on the pay and display machine.

The telephone number is 01202 232000

When you use the system for the first time you will be asked to provide

  • The vehicle registration number, colour and make of your vehicle.
  • The four digit location code of where you are parked. Each car park which offers RingGo has its own location number and this can be found on the RingGo notice on the pay and display machine. List of Location Numbers
  • The length of time you wish to park.
  • Your payment card details.

The initial registration process will take a couple of minutes, but future calls will be much quicker as the system recognises your mobile phone number and will ask you to confirm the previously registered information.

N.B. Be careful if you have more than one vehicle to ensure that the session is purchased for the correct vehicle.

How much does RingGo cost?

There is no charge to register with RingGo.

When you park your vehicle you will pay a 20p/30p convenience charge on top of the normal parking charges that apply. The charges will be shown on your credit or debit card statement.

In some car parks you can obtain a monthly RingGo permit|. The convenience charge in this instance is waived.

There is also the local call to the RingGo service at the rate applicable to your mobile phone package. Whilst the first call takes longer, once registered any subsequent calls will usually not last longer than one minute.

If you wish to receive a text to confirm your parking session or a reminder when your parking session is about to run out, there is an additional 10p charge per text for these options.

How do I get a VAT receipt?

If you need a VAT receipt for your RingGo session, go to MyRingGo| where you can view and print the details. For security you will be asked to enter your PIN number which was provided to you at the first time of use.
