White Dead-nettle - Lamium album
This attractive and common plant gets its name from the fact that, although its leaves look very much like those of the nettle, they do not sting. It is also known as Blind Nettle. It flowers from April onwards, and can be found for much of the rest of the year. The flowers are pollinated by bees - a bee will land on the lower lip of one of the flowers. As it moves into the flower tube, it brushes against the stamens and gets dusted with pollen, which will later be carried to the stamen of another flower, leading to pollination.
Children used to pick the flowers and suck the sweet nectar out of them. Also, it is said that boys used to chase girls with the plants, pretending they were nettles.
