This idyllic riverside Reserve forms part of the Stour Valley Way and provides a wall following a 2 mile stretch of the river Stour. It is perfect for walking, relaxing or exercising in the fresh air. It also features a rich variety of habitats including meadows, woodland and hedgerows.
There are two self-guided trails - the Wilderness Way and the Meadows Walk. The Reserve is home to a considerable amount of wildlife, and is an ideal bird watching site. The Nature Reserve also boasts an active voluntary group called the Stour Valley Supporters group. They undertake practical tasks to improve and develop the site.
A Wildlife Watch Club for 7 - 14 year olds is run every month and meets at the Stour Valley Community Parks & Countrysides Team Office. The site also hosts the Stour Valley Festival in September, celebrating traditional crafts, farmers markets, local produce and performances that showcase local talent.
For more details of volunteering opportunities, guided walks, illustrated talks and other activities, or to view a copy of the site management plan please email the Parks and Countryside Team.
