The Green Flag is the national standard for parks and green spaces in England and Wales and it recognises and regards the best green spaces in the country. Bournemouth has been succesfful in achieving Green Flags since 1999. High quality Parks and Green Spaces are central to the Government's commitment to cleaner, safer, greener communities and the Green Flag Award is the benchmark of the standard. Green Flags are awarded annually and are held by some of the best parks and gardens in the U.K. Each of our Green Flag Parks has a flag and certificate displayed in a prominent position, and is displayed throughout the period for which the award is valid.
