The Community Parks & Countryside Team look after all the Council-controlled parks, gardens and countryside in Bournemouth. Our role is to ensure they run smoothly, meet the needs of the community, and are in as good a condition as they can be. We act as the first point of contact for the public to link with the Council in anything to do with green spaces.

The team is made up of Site Officers (or CPCOs), that are each responsible for a certain number of the Borough's parks and open spaces, and a team of Patrol CPCOs that deal with and respond to out-of-hours problems, as well as making links with site users.

The site officers also organise events, and run a comprehensive programme of guided walks through the year.

The team works from 9am to 9pm in winter, and 9am to 10pm in the summer as set hours, but can also work outside of these hours as the need arises.

All CPCOs wear green or beige shirts and/or green sweatshirts, all of which have the Council logo on them. The officers also carry identification badges.  If you meet an Officer and are not sure who you are talking to, please ask to see their identification.

If a CPCO is required urgently for something that needs immediate attention, they can be contacted via 01202 451145. (E.g. broken glass, discarded needles, damaged equipment or anything dangerous that needs action).
