Enjoy Bournemouth's Incredibly Varied Green Spaces and Wildlife
View From The Overcliff, near Fisherman's Walk
The Community Parks and Countryside Team runs a comprehensive programme of guided walks throughout the year. These walks are a great way of finding out about the wonderful variety of wildlife to be found in Bournemouth's parks and nature reserves. They also provide an opportunity to discover the surprising variety and amount of countryside that we have on our doorstep. The team also runs the extremely popular weekly nature walk - the Monday Morning Meanders - which take place every Monday, except Bank Holidays.
These walks cover the whole spectrum of nature, and usually tie-in with the seasons. There are walks on birds and their songs, wildflowers and trees and their folklore, insects, mammals, reptiles, astronomy and more. There are even some poetry walks, during which we enjoy poetry linked to nature and the seasons.
There is truly something for everyone, and walks are usually suitable for all ages. So, whatever your interest, why not come along and join us on one of the walks. Take a look at some of the things you might see in the countryside at this time of the year in the Nature Picture Gallery and Nature Notes pages.
Please note - as from the beginning of May, there will be a charge of £1 per adult (over 16s) for each walk, unless stated otherwise.
