Kings Park Skate Park

The in ground concrete bowl Sk8 park in Kings Park, Bournemouth, was officially opened on March 18th 2006. It was the culmination of 5 years of planning and fundraising shared between Bournemouth Borough Council and a locally based group of dedicated skaters and BMX'ers called the KPSK8 group. The SK8 park has proved to be very popular with skaters coming from far and wide to ride the bowls and street style ramps, steps and grind rails.

It is located in Kings Park, Bournemouth next to the Gloucester Road entrance to the park, behind the athletics track spectator stand. It is approximately 50 metres long and 25 metres wide with a 2.4 metre high extension at the end of the bowl, ramps, pyramid, fun box, steps, hand rails and a pole jam.

The sk8 park is open 24/7 and there are events and competitions organised on a regular basis.

The 3 key members of the KPSK8 group are pictured below.
