You can get an award for offering healthy food options

Most people are aware that healthy eating is a vital part of good health. Foods that are low in fat and baked or grilled rather than fried and are high in fibre can all be considered to be healthy. They are therefore more attractive to your customers who wish to choose a healthier option from your menu.

The Bournemouth Heartbeat Award is designed to help you and your business adopt a healthier approach to the food you produce and sell. Specifically the Bournemouth Heartbeat Award aims to:

  • Encourage food premises to offer healthy menu options and choices
  • Ensure that food is prepared in a hygienic manner by staff who are trained in food safety

The Bournemouth Heartbeat Award has three levels - Gold, Silver and Bronze.
