Small Works Grants

These grants are for one or more of the following types of work plus costs incurred in arranging the work:

  • emergency repairs
  • work to address minor disrepair
  • work needed to enable a person to return to their own home following a period in hospital or other care, if
  • not eligible for a Disabled Facilities Grant
  • preliminary investigations and reports

The grants are available to owner-occupiers who either: -

a) receive one or more of these benefits: 

  • Housing Benefit
  • Council Tax Benefit
  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
  • Working Tax Credit with annual household income of less than £15,460
  • Child Tax Credit with an annual household income of less than £15,460
  • Guarantee Pension Credit
  • Savings Pension Credit

Benefits that are not income related

  • Attendance Allowance
  • Disability Living Allowance
  • Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit
  • War Disablement Pension

or

 

b) are over the age of 60 and owner-occupying property in Council Tax bands A, B, C or D.

 

The amount of grant will be 100% of the reasonable cost of the work up to a maximum of £2,000. Fees will be paid in addition to this maximum.

 

'Homesafe Security' Grants

Working in partnership with Bournemouth Police, the Council will upgrade the security measures to homes occupied by those who have had or are at risk of a burglary.

The grants are available to owner-occupiers and tenants who either - receive one or more of these benefits: 

  • Housing Benefit
  • Council Tax Benefit
  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
  • Working Tax Credit with an annual household income of less than £15,460
  • Child Tax Credit with an annual household income of less than £15,460
  • Guarantee Pension Credit
  • Savings Pension Credit

Benefits that are not income related

or

 

b) are over the age of 60 and occupying homes in Council Tax bands A, B, C or D.
