THE STRATEGIC PROCUREMENT TEAM (SPT) MISSION STATEMENT

Our priority is to facilitate best value-for-money for Council procurement activities, assisted by internal and external networks, within a consistent and visible process framework which seeks to manage supply chain risk.

Our services include:

• Providing a strategic overview of Procurement activities in the Council.
• Seeking opportunities to improve Procurement activities in line with best practice.
• Providing the lead on Efficiency Savings to be derived from the supply chain.
• Reviewing and improving the Council's understanding on spending patterns and supplier performance.
• Ensuring the supply chain plays it part in helping the Council to achieve Corporate Plan objectives and initiatives.
• Enabling the application of a consistent approach to Procurement by the Council.
• The production and maintenance of a cohesive set of procedures, templates and tool-kits for Procurement activities.
• Promoting an awareness of the need to actively manage risk in the supply chain.
