Children's Centre Privacy Notice
What happens to your information when you register with a children's centre
When you register with a Children’s Centre, the information you give will be held by us at Bournemouth Borough Council and your local Children’s Centre for monitoring and evaluation purposes, and to inform you about centre activities. It will be held in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and will not be passed to any organisation outside of Bournemouth Children’s Services or partner agencies without your consent unless required by law to do so. You may choose to use the services provided by other Bournemouth Children’s Centres and if so, this information will be shared with your local Children’s Centre to help improve the quality of service provided.
Each Children’s Centre is operated on behalf of Bournemouth Borough Council by one of three contract providers:- either Barnardo’s, YMCA or The Children’s Society.
If you are not a resident of Bournemouth, your information will be passed securely to Children’s Services at the relevant authority for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
Where you are receiving a service from a partner of Bournemouth Children’s Centres and have given that partner your consent, information will be shared between the partner and the Children’s Centre about your child’s progress and development to ensure the most appropriate services are provided. Partners include Bournemouth Borough Council, Childminders, Children’s Social Care, Health Visitors, Nurseries, Pre-Schools and Schools. If your child may benefit from specific additional support, you will be consulted
