Come Talk with Me

Working together to get our children talking

Come Talk with Me is a speech, language and communication project that is being run across Bournemouth's childcare settings, children's centres and libraries.

It helps parents and practitioners to work together to help young children with their speech, language and communication.

Each childcare setting, children's centre and library has a 'Communication Champion'. Their role is to promote the development of good practice in speech, language and communication and to support families. They can also direct you to other areas of support, such as local speech and language groups.

Speech and Language Therapy Drop-In

If you have any concerns about your child's speech, language or communication development then why not pop along to see a Speech and Language Therapist during one of our friendly stay and play groups in your local children's centre. Your child can play and learn whilst you get some free advice and support.

If you have any queries about these sessions, please contact your local children's centre.

Why do I need to get involved?

The early years are the most important time for your child's development, especially for their speech, language and communication. Being able to speak clearly and to understand and interact with others is vital as these skills support all other areas. Research has shown that children supported at home make better progress.

The Communication Trust have useful resources to help you and you child with their speech, language and communication.

What you do matters!
