Appeals Dates 2016

Timetable for entry to Secondary, Reception and Junior school in September 2016

The following information applies only to Community and Voluntary Controlled schools. For appeal timetables for Foundation, Voluntary Aided, Trust Schools, Free Schools and Academies, please contact the schools direct.

 

Secondary School Entry

There are no Community or Voluntary Controlled secondary schools in Bournemouth.

        

Reception Class and Junior School Entry

Main allocation offer letters are posted to parents on 18 April 2016, with the late allocation posted on 6 May 2016.                

The deadline for submitting an appeal, to be guaranteed to be included in the main June/July hearings, is Friday, 20 May 2016.                

Appeal hearings will take place during the period 6 June to 20 July for the schools in Bournemouth.                

Families applying after the main allocation will be advised separately on the dates for appeal, but in general are advised to submit an appeal as soon as they are able to.                

               

Appeals for In-Year Applications (for places within the school year or outside the normal intake)

All applicants refused a school place have the right to appeal the decision. Requests to appeal should be sent to the school concerned in writing stating the reasons for appealing. If the school is a Community or a Voluntary Controlled school the request should be sent to the local authority Admissions Team.
