Children & Young People
Health issues affecting children in Bournemouth
Our plan for Children and Young People and their families 2014-17 explains how local services work with children, young people, their parents and carers to change how our services are run.
We are responsible for organising interventions for young people with substance misuse problems.
Young people who need interventions will have more problems than substance misuse. We will help them with their substance misuse, as well as support them with their housing, education and family relationships.
For more complex needs, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, Youth Offending Teams and Children’s Social Care can work together with substance misuse experts.
Our Index of Multiple Deprivation (Income Deprivation Affecting Children) 2015 shows child poverty areas in Bournemouth.
Our Child Health Profile 2016 can give you an overview of children and young people's health in Bournemouth.
