How to invite the Mayor to an event

If you want to invite the Mayor to an event or official opening of a new business, you can contact:

  • mayor@bournemouth.gov.uk
  • Or by Letter: The Worshipful The Mayor of Bournemouth, Bournemouth Borough Council, Mayor’s Parlour, Town Hall, Bourne Avenue, Bournemouth, BH2 6DY

We recommend you give us as much notice as possible. The Mayor's diary gets booked up weeks in advance. 

Your letter should begin "Dear Mr Mayor" and end with "Yours faithfully". Make sure that you include your postal address and daytime telephone number.

Celebrating special anniversaries and 100th Birthdays.

If a family member or family friend will turn 100 on their birthday, you can ask the Mayor to visit them or send congratulations.

The Mayor will also send congratulations for special anniversaries of 50 years and over.  You need to write to the Mayor's Office giving the following information:

  • Date and type of the event
  • The full name(s) of the people concerned and your relationship to them.
  • Details of any special event already arranged to celebrate the occasion.
