Allotments

Currently there are 5 available allotment sites in Bournemouth.  The 4 larger allotments are self managed by individual Allotment Societies/Associations. (Longbarrow, Brook Road, North Bournemouth and Bournemouth East) and the 1 smaller site is  managed by the Council (Merrivale Ave in Southbourne).  All sites have a water supply.  The self managed sites are either relatively new or have under gone refurbishment so offering better facilities to their members.

A full plot is 250m2, or 300sq yds,  all sites have a variety of plot sizes, please contact the individual site to discuss availability.  You need to be a resident of Bournemouth to apply for and to continue to hold an allotment plot.  All sites are currently operating a waiting list.  Please contact the site closest to your home address for further details.

The self managed sites

The management committees oversee the management and operation of their site.  This includes liaising with tenants, setting and collecting  rents, general site maintenance, managing the site waiting list and plot inspections.  The sites also run shops for supplies and arrange annual shows and other activities for their members.
