Directions to Bournemouth travelling South from London
From M3 get onto M27 Westbound. At the end of the motorway stay on dual carriageway through the New Forest. Pass Ringwood and turn left onto the A338 (Spur Road). After approx. 8 miles (taking great care - newly imposed 50m.p.h speed limit), you pass over the Cooper Dean Flyover (Large building on left is Bournemouth Hospital). Carry on for another mile or so and on your left is Bournemouth Station and Asda. Straight on over St. Paul's Roundabout and off at the next exit (just past speed camera). Go up to the roundabout and turn left into Richmond Hill (Directly on your left is a multi-storey public car park). Carry on down the hill, take the first right. Follow the road round, keeping the church on your left. Turn left at the junction underneath the flyover, down to a mini roundabout. The Town Hall entrance is on your right.
Directions to Bournemouth Town Hall from Wimborne
Follow the signs from Wimborne to Bournemouth and pick up the A341 (Magna Road).
When you reach the Bear Cross Roundabout (Bear Cross Public House on your left), turn right onto the A348 – Ringwood Road – a dual carriageway.
Go straight across at the small roundabout (Clock Garage on your right) and continue along the A348 to the next roundabout at the Mountbatten Arms. There’s a BP Petrol Station on the corner. Turn left into Wallisdown Road (A3049).
Continue straight along this road, through 5 roundabouts, until you reach the traffic lights at Cemetery Junction (there’s a cemetery on your left – hence the name!!). Take the RIGHT hand lane to head towards the Town Centre on the A347 – Wimborne Road.
Keep in the left lane at the traffic lights and continue to the “flyover roundabout” at the top of Richmond Hill. Head straight across then take the RIGHT hand lane to take the turning on your right St Stephen’s Road (the Royal Norfolk Hotel is on the corner). Follow the road around the sharp “S” bend until you reach the “T” junction underneath the Wessex Way flyover. Turn left into Braidley Road.
Follow Braidley Road towards the Gardens and War Memorial, and turn right at the mini roundabout into the Town Hall Car Park. A barrier system is now in operation – press the button adjacent to the barrier and advise the Receptionist that you have an appointment.
Directions to Bournemouth Town Hall from Poole
Follow the signs from the A350 and pick up the A35 (just before Creekmoor) to Bournemouth.
You will very shortly see Upton House on the right-hand side.
Continue across the next roundabout (beware – turning right will take you into Poole!) and over the flyover onto Dorset Way. The Nuffield Estate with Toys ‘R’ Us and Charlie Browns will be on your left.
Shortly after a slip road on your left you will arrive at a smaller roundabout. Continue ahead (the FIRST turning off the roundabout) keeping left. You should pass the Tower Park Leisure Complex (on your right).
At the next roundabout, take the second exit on a shorter dual carriageway (Canford Way), then left again at the next roundabout. Get into the right lane immediately (it’s a very short piece of carriageway here) and turn right at the roundabout into Wallisdown Road (A3049). The Mountbatten Arms public house will be on your right.

Please be aware that car parking is not always available at the front of the Town Hall as this is often reserved for councillors when there are committee meetings.
Directions to Bournemouth Town Hall's Rear Entrance and St Stephen's Road
Follow the signs on the A31 from Ringwood to Bournemouth and pick up the A338 (Wessex Way, commonly known as the “spur road”!)
You will pass a property with a blue roof on your left – the Royal Bournemouth Hospital – and, as you travel over an elevated section, you will see a large glass building on your left – the offices of Chase Manhattan Bank.
After approximately one mile, you will see the Railway Station (an old one!) and the ASDA supermarket on your left.
Pass the Railway station and head across St Paul’s Roundabout, then take the first slip-road off (shortly after a speed camera!). At the top of the elevated section, turn left into Richmond Hill.
Take the turning on the right - St Stephen’s Road – the Royal Norfolk Hotel is on the corner. DO NOT follow the road around the sharp bend, but continue straight on – effectively a left turn according to the road markings. (St Stephen’s Church should now be on your right).
Pass over the road bridge and on your left is the Town Hall Extension. The visitor’s car park is just past this and is barrier controlled.
