Article 10 AREA FORUMS
10.1 Introduction
Area Forums are based upon the existing shopping/residential communities in Kinson, Queens Park & Charminster, Southbourne, Boscombe, Springbourne, Winton, Wallisdown & Ensbury Park, Throop/Muscliff/Strouden/Townsend and Holdenhurst, Talbot & Branksome Woods and Littledown & Iford .
10.2 Form, composition, functions
The form, composition and functions of Area Forums will vary. Some of the Area Forums have identified and renamed themselves as ‘Community Forums’. However their prime role is to provide a link between people, partners and Councillors which encourages active community participation and improves the quality of neighbourhood life. They are led and managed by local residents with the support of ward Councillors and are developed organically.
The Area Forums also provide for:
10.2.1 Councillors to promote community initiatives in response to locally identified issues and encourage public involvement.
10.2.2 Consultation on proposed new community initiatives.
10.2.3 Open ‘Question and Answer’ sessions.
10.2.4 The referral of local issues or contention to the Council and/or its Partners and an undertaking to report back.
10.3 Membership
Area Councillors (in addition to Partners, Community Groups and the Public)Boscombe Ward Councillors including those for Boscombe

Springbourne Ward Councillors including those for East Cliff & Springbourne Ward.
Queens Park Ward Councillors including those for Queens Park and & Charminster Central Wards.
Kinson Ward Councillors including those for Kinson North, Kinson South and Redhill & Northbourne Wards.
Throop, Muscliff, Ward Councillors including those for Throop & Strouden, Townsend Muscliff and Strouden Park Wards.
and Holdenhurst
Southbourne Ward Councillors including those for West Southbourne, East Southbourne & Tuckton Wards.
Talbot & Ward Councillors including those for Westbourne
Branksome & West Cliff and Talbot & Branksome Woods Wards.
Woods
Winton Ward Councillors including those for Winton East and Moordown Wards.
Littledown Ward Councillors including those for Littledown & Iford Ward.
Wallisdown Ward Councillors including those for Wallisdown & Winton West Ward.
10.4 Area forums– Access to information
Area Forums will comply to the Access to Information Procedure Rules in Part 4 of this Constitution.
