Bournemouth Borough Council is run by a Cabinet of ten Elected Councillors.   

There are six Overview Panels which assist and advise the Cabinet & Council as a whole on developing new policy or reviewing current policy.

Cabinet also works with various Scrutiny Panels who monitor performance and spending for each of the Council’s priority areas.

Full Council acts as a watchdog, making sure that the Cabinets decisions are in the best interests of the people of Bournemouth. The Cabinet refers many key decisions to Council, because they are so important that all Councillors need to be involved.
