Environment & Community Services is one of the Council's five Directorates responsible for the delivery of services within the Borough. It is made up of four main Business Units (Please click on each of the following Business Unit titles to access further pages listing breakdowns of services and contacts):
This 'Road Map' of the Directorate is an introduction to our work and provides some useful contact names and contact details. I hope you find it easy to follow and helpful in locating the service you need.
The above links provide a guide (or 'Road Map') to the Environment & Community Services Directorate (E&CS). They give useful contact information for the various works and services we provide.
E&CS covers a wide range of work, including many of the Council's day-to-day responsibilities such as refuse collection, street cleaning, highway maintenance, housing, environmental health and planning. You may be interested to know that in 2002 we:
In recent years the Council has worked more closely with partners from the private, public and voluntary sectors - these include: the Police, Environment Agency; Civic Society' local businesses; Housing Associations; etc. Many of our partners have joined the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) which was set up three years ago to help 'Build a Better Bournemouth' by working together on shared objectives and commitments.
