Any person may carry out a personal search of the Local Land Charges Register on paying the statutory fee, which is currently £11.
Please note: we are only able to accept cheques in payment of fees due.
The Local Land Charges Section operates an appointments system. The preferred method of contact is for you to fax Land Charges on 01202 451003 stating the preferred time for your appointment, together with the address/description of the property being searched and a contact telephone number. On receipt of the fax Land Charges will contact you if your preferred time is not available to rearrange the appointment.
Please note: Land Charges will advise Planning and Highways daily of all appointments – you do not need to contact these Departments direct. Local Land Charges reception is located at the St Stephens’s Road entrance to the main town hall and Planning and Highways are in the annex also at St Stephen’s Road.
Currently due to demand, you are limited to 3 searches per agent per day and appointments will be available from 9.30am to 11.30am and from 2.00pm to 3.00pm on the hour or half-hour. If you are unable to keep the appointment please telephone Local Land Charges on 01202 454867/451119/451120 and a new time will be arranged. Appointments can only be booked 48 hours in advance.
Personal Search Booking Arrangements as at 27th October 2008 are:
· Appointments to carry out personal searches may be booked 48
