Equality Impact Needs Assessments (EINAs) have been developed as a tool for ensuring that equality, social inclusion and community cohesion issues are considered when drawing up policies or proposals which affect the delivery of services, the carrying out of the Council’s functions and the employment practices of the authority.

They should help you:

• Determine how Bournemouth Borough Council’s policies and practices and procedures may impact or affect different communities (especially those groups or communities who experience inequality, discrimination, social exclusion or disadvantage);
• Measure whether policies, proposals and strategies will have a negative or positive effect on different communities;
• Make informed decisions about current/future services and practices; and understand the possible outcomes they may have for different communities within Bournemouth; and
• Monitoring and review the effects of new or amended policies or proposals if they are introduced.
