A series of enviro-cleans have been scheduled across Boscombe and Springbourne and volunteers are invited to come and spend, what is hoped will be a fun day in the sun.
The enviro-cleans, which take place monthly in addition to normal street cleansing, form part of the council’s initiative ‘Keep Our Bournemouth Clean’. It is hoped that through this initiative residents will be encouraged to take pride in their surroundings and take responsibility for their waste.
The first two cleans will take place on Wednesday 21 May 2008,
At each enviro-clean day, Bournemouth Borough Council’s Boscombe and Springbourne Neighbourhood Wardens, Cleansing and Waste team, Highways department, Technical Services and Dorset Police’s Boscombe and Springbourne PCSO’s will be on-hand and will join forces with volunteers to carry out a full scale environmental clean up.
Councillor
Dave Hamilton, Neighbourhood Warden for Boscombe and Springbourne said: “We’ve already carried out a number of really successful enviro-cleans which have benefited the area greatly and we’ve received great feedback from residents so far. I hope local people will take up this opportunity to make a difference to their community. By volunteering in huge numbers residents will enable the success of these events and in the process improve their own quality of life.”
