Local library users are invited to come and try out the ‘Living Library’, a unique project being piloted at

The idea of Living Library was developed by the Danish Youth NGO 'Stop the Violence' as part of the Roskilde Festival 2000,
The project is funded by the Museums Libraries and Archives Council and will be overseen by Local Level. Local Level is an independent consultancy which specialises in research and facilitation around the themes of information and communication and has particular experience working with public libraries. Three events will be held on:
Saturday 3 May, 10am - 2pm
Wednesday 7 May, 2 - 5pm
Monday 12 May 10am - 1pm

The speaker, or ‘book’ will be given their own space and can be borrowed for between 20 - 40 minutes. ‘Borrowing’ means that the book will speak with the borrower, sharing their personal experience of their subject. Refreshments and time for breaks in between borrowings will be available.
