Who we are

An arts team working throughout Bournemouth to support creativity, learning and enjoyment of the arts.

What we do

• We work through a strategic approach to arts development, currently through the following policies:

~ Joint Arts Plan, in partnership with Borough of Poole
~ Public Art Development Plan
~ Creative Industries
~ Arts Strategy Development
~ Audience Development

• We run an arts development programme, working in partnership with artists, organisations, agencies, venues, council departments and education institutions, which addresses Council priorities and the aims and objectives of the Joint Arts Plan
  
• We offer advice relating to project development and finance to individuals, groups, artists, agencies and schools wishing to develop arts activities in Bournemouth
  
• Financial support is offered through the Bournemouth Arts Grant, a scheme supporting small Bournemouth based arts projects organised by artists, individuals and groups
  
• Limited financial support is occasionally provided for specific projects developed with strategic partners, whose aims address Council priorities, the Joint Arts Plan, or which fall within the Partnership Agreement between Bournemouth Borough Council and Arts Council England - South West
  
•  We work with the following organisations through Service Level Agreements:

~ Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra 
~ Activate - the dance and theatre development agency for Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole
~ The Next Stage Disability Theatre Project
~ Wave - Arts Education Agency - provides a source for inspiration and creativity between the arts and education communities in Bournemouth & Poole 
~ SoundStorm at Dorset Music Service - a music education agency which develops music making projects utilising a range of contemporary music forms for the 5-16 age range and the wider community.
