Bournemouth’s Pavilion Ballroom is the venue for a new series of monthly Tea Dances (opens PDF) with music played by musicians from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.
The Tea Dances are aimed primarily at older people from residential homes and day centres or isolated people in the community but the event is suitable for anyone interested in listening to or dancing to live music. The event also attracts more active people who enjoy dancing and this makes for an inclusive and enjoyable occasion.
Music makes you feel better, according to previous tea dance attendees. Others said the friendliness of the company, and the liveliness of the occasion contributed to a feeling of well-being.
