The team works to accomplish the following major goals:

• To increase the capacity of local communities so that people are empowered to participate in local decision making
• To improve the quality of life for people in the most disadvantaged neighbourhoods
• To reduce crime and the fear of crime within the borough
• To tackle anti-social behaviour
• To increase the amount of cleaner and greener spaces in the borough.

Safer and Stronger Communities have a commitment to work in Partnership with Bournemouth Council for Voluntary Services (Bournemouth CVS). A document called the Bournemouth Compact details how this work is carried out.
