Online resources
Users of Bournemouth Libraries can access our free online reference resources through the Cyberlibrary. There are resources for business information, family history, music, newspaper articles, and much more. They include Encyclopedia Brittanica, Which Online, the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography and the Oxford English Dictionary.
Please note: some can be accessed online, using your library card number, some are only available from within a particular library.
Can't log in to the resources? Email the Bournemouth Libraries webteam to report any problems with our Online Reference Library resources through the Cyberlibrary, giving full contact details if you would like us to provide some help and advice.
Useful websites
The CyberLibrary contains links to hundreds of websites chosen, described and organised by librarians in Plymouth, Cornwall, Torbay and Wiltshire. Bournemouth Libraries is also a CyberLibrary partner.
The People's Network, (Libraries across England, including Bournemouth), brings you Discover - search library/museum/archives resources plus a web guide section called web links.
For websites containing community and local information for Bournemouth and the surrounding area, go to our Local Links section. By category and compiled by Bournemouth Libraries staff.
Online reference services
The People's Network (national libraries) brings you Enquire - send a question online to a librarian to be answered, straight away by live question and answer, or by email. Free and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!
If you have a reference question you can also email librarians at Bournemouth Libraries Ask Here Desk and we will endeavour to answer your question as soon as possible.
