Book Crawl

Parents/guardians of babies and children aged 0 to 4 years old can register them for our 'Book Crawl' at their local library. Babies and children will be joined as library members, if they are not already! Joining the library is free and quick - the parent/guardian should bring in ID showing their address and then fill in and sign an application form.

They can then collect one sticker to put in their collector's card on each visit to a library to borrow a book.
After five stickers they will get a special certificate.
There are five beautifully illustrated certificates in all to collect. See Bookstart Book Crawl for pictures.
In each library, the first child to get a certificate, and the first child to complete the Book Crawl by getting all 5 certificates, will both win a £5.00 book token from Borders, Bournemouth.

The aim of Book Crawl is to encourage Under 5s to join the library and develop a love of reading. Bournemouth libraries have a large selection of books for reading with babies and toddlers including picture and board books, lift-the-flap books and books with different colours, textures and languages. You'll find books with your child's favourite authors and book and TV characters, from Balamory to Tweenies, as well as nursery rhymes, bedtime stories and books about everyday situations (e.g. going to playgroup, a new baby brother or sister in the family).
