DirectGov

Information on all public services in one place including central government and local councils. Has directories (A - Z of government departments and public bodies and contacts) guide to government (including international and european bodies, the judicial system, political parties, the monarchy), 'Do it Online', newsroom and business sections. Has a Guide to Government and a Central Government A - Z 

Parliament

All about Parliament, MPs and Lords, government staff and business, and publications (Bills, Judgements etc.) and records. Find your MP, watch videos from the Commons and the Lords (sometimes live!) and find out about the Law Lords judicial work. Also find out about visiting Parliament and Big Ben and their history. Also Explore Parliament for children and teachers. 

Hansard

Verbatim report of proceedings in the House of Commons and the House of Lords including debates, committees, statements and ministerial answers. Also Parliamentary Archives from 1497 - search the Portcullis Catalogue - and publications such as Weekly Information Bulletin and Register of Members Interests.  

Official Documents

Search or browse to find free PDFs of official Command Papers and departmentally-sponsored House of Commons Papers (Acts etc) to view online or print out.

London Gazette Online

The official newspaper of record in the UK which contains a wide range of official notices including corporate insolvency and personal bankruptcy notices. The Supplements contain honours and awards, premium bonds, armed forces promotions, and company information. Also has a Historic Archive (pre-1998). Everything, except the last two most recent editions, is freely accessible. Search by name, date or words in text or browse to see results in date order.  

10 Downing Street

Information on the Prime Minister's residence including tour of the building, its history and past PMs. Lots on the current PM and government - the PMs office, speeches, statements, broadcasts and films. Also e-Petitions, webchats with ministers, podcasts, Has special site for Young People 

Treasury

The Budget, economic policy, data and tools (financial forecasts and indicators, statistics), consultation and legislation, independent reviews and newsroom and speeches. Also information on 11 Downing Street, HM Treasury and its ministers including the Chancellor of the Exchequer. 

Privy Council Office

Works with Chartered Bodies, Statutory Regulatory Bodies and in Higher Education. Also the final Court of Appeal for a number of Commonwealth countries through its Judicial Council browse through its judgements. 

British Monarchy

Information on the work of The Queen in modern society, biographies of the Royal Family, a history of kings and queens through the ages, background on Royal residences and art collections, and coverage of recent Royal events. 

BBC Parliament

BBC broadcasts from Parliament. Also has a Bill and Committee tracker and other features.
