The role of the Research & Information team is to provide for the needs of Planning and Transport and, where possible, the remainder of the authority. The team undertakes economic and demographic research and holds information on themes such as population, employment and housing.
The team are involved in joint projects with both Dorset and Poole; this includes reports on housing and employment land and the economy.
The Research and Information pages are arranged into datasets and themes. Datasets includes Census data and the Annual Business Inquiry while themes covers topics such as crime and safety, labour market and population and migration. The Department for Communities and Local Government is conducting a questionnaire as part of a research project to investigate the way users of local information systems benefit from the data and statistics the systems provide. Bournemouth statistics is featured as one of the local information systems in the questionnaire and we are keen to receive feedback and learn more about your needs and the benefits our system provides to you.
