Walks with Wheelchairs

It can be hard to find routes and easy to come across dangerous terrain when enjoying the outdoors with someone using a wheelchair. This website has been developed to help. The site provides free information for suitable routes for going on a walk with someone using a wheelchair. It covers the whole of the UK and allows you to also add routes you use or your comments.

 

Help with Council Tax

Carers UK is urging carers to check they are paying the correct amount. Some carers could qualify for up to 50% off their Council tax bills.

Rights for Working Carers

Carers UK have a produced a booklet for carers called “Employees guide to work and caring”. If you’re a carer you can get a free copy by calling Carers UK publication line on 0845 241 0963 (local rate call–open office hours only).

 

Pension, Disability and Carers Service Business Plan 2008/2009
The Pension, Disability and Carers Service came into being on 1st April 2008, and is part of the Department for Work and Pensions. They have just published their business plan for the year. This sets out what they do and what they want to develop. It also contains some useful information about advice organisations and contact numbers.

Local Carers Centre Survey
