Graffiti
Bournemouth gets tough on graffiti

Report it!

If you would like any unsightly graffiti removed from Council property or street furniture, please Fill out an Online Form, phone (01202) 451199 or email the Street Cleansing Team.

In addition the Council is offering a £100 reward to anyone who provides information leading to enforcement action or even prosecution of anyone committing graffiti.

Graffiti is an illegal, anti-social activity that creates a negative impression of an area and contributes to people's fear of crime.

Bournemouth Borough Council are taking every occurrance of graffiti seriously and are actively seeking to prosecute as many offenders as possible.

Bournemouth is currently running a 12 month pilot scheme in 2008 to remove all low level graffiti of up to four square metres in size from brickwork, concrete or other surfaces free of charge throughout the Borough. This includes graffiti on all private, public, commercial and Council-owned property.

Whenever unsightly graffiti is reported the Council's specialist cleansing team will be in action to remove the offending messages in a bid to safeguard the environment.

Any graffiti greater in size or located at high level involving specialist equipment to remove it will be assessed by Street Services and discussed with the property owner before being removed by the in-house team or specialist external contractor for which a charge will be made.

Together we can make a difference and Keep Our Bournemouth Clean!
