There are two scenarios where a child's birth can be re-registered:
1) A birth may be re-registered to include the details of the natural father, where the child’s mother was not married to the father at the time of the birth, and have not subsequently married each other since the birth.
2) A birth may be re-registered, when at the time of the birth the parents were not married to each other but have now subsequently married.

If you wish, you can fill in the forms below and bring them with you when you attend the Register Office. Please note that you will need to print off the form on your PC/Printer, complete it and sign where indicated. There is no charge for the re-registration of the birth but the usual fee will be charged for any certificates issued.
